Corciano is one of the prettiest villages in Italy and we invite you to come and discover its charms.
It has been inhabited for many many centuries as demonstrated by a collection of archaeological finds in the Antiquarium. Corciano used to be an Etruscan centre before it became a medieval "Castrum", and due to its strategic location, has been the scene of many historical events.
To this day the town has within its walls, fine works of Renaissance art, significant architectural heritage artefacts and noteworthy archaeological and ethnological collections. It also has a well-preserved 11th century crucifix table . It is a jewel of medieval streets, churches, palaces and houses arranged as a "crown".
Places to visit: The Palazzo Comunale (16th century), the church of San Francesco (14th century), the church of Santa Maria del Serraglio (built in 700 / 18th century), the church of St. Christopher (1537), the Puteale (16th century), The Museum of the Peasant house, the Palazzo of the Captain of The People and the Communal Tower.
